Just In: Bawumia Announces E-Feeding For Students

Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana, has promised to establish a “e-feeding” scheme next week to track daily menus across the country.

The Vice President told students, authorities, and participants at Fijai Senior High School’s 70th anniversary celebration in Takoradi, Western Region, that he will launch a digitised School Feeding Programme next month to track the number of students fed and the menu on a daily basis to avoid future embezzlement of the Programme’s funds.

He also challenged government critics, saying that the Akufo-Addo administration is doing so much to develop the country, and that as a result, critics should refrain from indiscriminately criticizing the efficacy of the digitalization of the School Feeding Programme.

Dr. Bawumia asserted that Ghana is far ahead of developed countries in terms of digitalisation, and that we must embrace and grow it further.

“We’re late to the game, but we’re able to leapfrog a lot of systems because we don’t have a legacy system,” he said, encouraging the pupils to aim for the stars in anything they set their minds to.

“We must not allow our minds to be enslaved by the past of slavery and colonialism.”

Drones have been successful, according to the Vice President, and the government will open new drone centers in Afram Plains and Ketekrachi next week.

He also stated that Ghana is leading the world in drone systems and that the west should emulate Ghana.

People are now coming to Ghana to recruit Ghanaians who are interested in drones, he said.
