Ghana to mark Nat’l Youth Day Nov. 1

Ghana will mark the National Youth Day on Friday, 1 November 2019 The dayis set aside by the Africa Union Commission to promote increased awareness and recognition of young Africans as critical agents of positive change.

In Ghana, the National Youth Authority (NYA), the government agency mandated to regulate and coordinate youth development activities, will mark the celebration with a series of activities on the theme: “Ghana Beyond Aid; The Youth Factor”, stemming from the vision of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

At a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday, 30 October 2019, a deputy Chief Executive Officer of the NYA, Mrs Akosua Manu, said the government was committed to the facilitation of youth development in the country through various activities and programmes.

She said the NYA had already embarked on a series of activities to mark the youth week celebration ahead of the November 1 Youth Parliament in Accra.

They include a special prayer and donation session, national and regional youth Stay Healthy walk and community service as well as a public lecture.

Mrs Manu appealed to various youth groups to join in the celebrations and also charged them to cooperate with the government in enhancing the development and empowerment of the Ghanaian youth.
