You Are Called A Politician If You Speak Your Mind – Dormaahene

Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyeman Badu II, the Paramount Chief of Dormaa Traditional Area, has condemned the politicization of criticism intended at encouraging the government to sit up and do the right thing by residents.

He has also emphasized the necessity of political activism and openly expressed support for organisations and individuals working to bring about political responsibility through various means.

The Paramount Chief, who spoke to a durbar of chiefs and people from Asunsu Number One in the Dormaa Central Municipality over the weekend, also condemned successive governments for abandoning projects they had inherited.

He notably mentioned the Saglemi Housing project, which began under the government of John Evans Atta Mills but has since been abandoned.

“It’s tragic and regrettable that the project was abandoned and left to rot years after it was built, when it could have housed workers and millions of homeless Ghanaians.”

“They say you’re doing politics when you express your thoughts about this,” the Chief, who is also the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, addressed the crowd.

He emphasized the need of citizens speaking up and demanding responsibility and action on corruption and other maladies that plague democratic governance and progress.
