Gifty Osei, the suspect, was said to have allegedly defrauded several people of huge sums of money, using the fake dollars under the pretext of giving them loans.
Confirming the arrest to DAILY GUIDE, Chief Superintendent Stephen Kwakye, Commander of the Community One District Police Headquarters, said following police intelligence that the woman had in her possession fake dollars, the suspect was picked up on March 24, 2020 at about 4:00 pm.
According to him, the woman has been parading herself in the Greater Accra, Central and Eastern regions as a financial consultant who had returned from the United Kingdom (UK) with stimulus loan package and has succeeded in defrauding unsuspecting individuals of various sums of money.
He said luck eluded her when in the process of defrauding a victim in Tema, she was exposed and arrested.
The commander stated that a search conducted on her revealed wads of fake dollars loaded in a bag she was carrying.
Chief Superintendent Kwakye said the suspect was in police custody assisting in investigations and would soon be processed for court.
