Vice President Bawumia is a deep thinker, according to Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah, who always exposes the ignorance of his political opponents whenever he speaks.
In an interview with Wontumi TV, the Regional Minister stated that the Vice President was correct in stating that Ghana cards would soon be used as passports.
He was therefore surprised opposition elements; mainly from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are up and exhibiting their ignorance over the matter.
Dr. Bawumia stated that the Ghana-card would be used as an e-passport by the first quarter of next year during a public lecture titled “Transforming an economy through digitalization: The Ghana story” held at the Ashesi University on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
The NDC, on the other hand, claims that it is not possible, prompting Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah to educate them on the subject.
“I have been deputy Speaker of ECOWAS Parliament for about 4 years…On the Ghana card there is a place indicated as ECOWAS identity card… You can use the card as passport to travel to other countries and I don’t believe what Bawumia said meant you can use it to travel to every country. This can easily be verified from other ECOWAS countries”, the minister argued.
