We Are Not Fools – Chiefs And Residents Declares

Following the attempt by some selfish people to sneak their way into the Oda forest reserve at Manso Aboaboso in the Amansie South District of Ashanti to practice serious illegal mining activity, Manso Nkwanta Traditional Council and residents of the town have expressed anger and disappointment.

They have therefore decided to resist any attempt whatsoever from any quarters aim at perpertrating such demonic act and causing damage to the forest reserve on the blind side of the traditional council.

An earlier report that suggested an ongoing illegal mining activity in the Oda forest reserve at Manso Aboaboso where residents accused the NPP government due to the unconern attitude of government officials including the DCE William Bediako upon several reports.

However, this reporter visiting the area together with the angry residents and a delegation from Manso Nkwanta Traditional Council returns with a comprehensive coverage over serious and massive destructions to the forest

Speaking to the chiefs about the development , they were astonished to witness such an act inside the deep forest which came about without their prior knowledge.

In an interview with Manso Adubia Gyaasehen Nana Adusei Kwadampim who happens to an experienced miner for decades said, the shocking activity is a clear illegality which is never going to be allowed in the forest reserve by Nananom. According to him their earlier information was that these suspected gurus made their way into the forest with a suspected fake documents claiming to be government officials. They have put the challenge on the doorstep of President Nana Addo Danquah to confirm or denial these people who only run away from sight after sensing danger.

Angry youth (residents) who accompanied nananom after destroying all structures put up by these runaway galamsey operators revealed, “they’re not fools to allow this illegal activity to go on”
