“There Is No Quality In The Current Free Education Policy; It Is Better To Be An Illiterate Than Going For Free SHS’ – Asiedu Nketsiah

The General Secretary of the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketsiah has claimed that there is no quality in the current free SHS education policy.

In his view, the future of Ghanaian children would be destroyed by the free education initiative that the Nana Addo government is undertaking.

He labelled the policy as mediocre education adding that it is worse off than choosing to be an illiterate.

“If we should allow things to pan out the way they are now at the education sector without changing certain policies, then they are being wicked to children by messing up their future. Because this half-baked education is worse than illiteracy. If the children go to school and they are being taught wrongly, then those who didn’t go to school at all are better off,” he said.

However, Asiedu Nketsiah indicated that the NDC has a plan to solve the hiccups currently facing the Free SHS Policy by liaising with private schools to solve the problem of school placement to improve the smoothness of the process.
