A Junior High School teacher has been killed in an armed robbery attack on the Atebubu-Kejaji road in the Bono East region.
The unfortunate incident happened on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, around 3:30 pm at Nyankotre a suburb of Kejaji in the Sene East District.
The deceased has been named Anain Kwadwo Prah, a teacher at Kejaji B/A Junior High School in the Sene East District.
Soireenews reporter confirms the deceased was returning from his hometown in Takoradi to resume his duty as a responsible teacher since school reopened yesterday.
The Sprinter bus with registration number, As 2640-16, which the late Anain Kwadwo Prah was on board was attacked by the assailants at Nyankotre to rob them of the hard-earned monies and mobile phones.

According to some market women who were on board in the Sprinter bus, four men wielding guns engaged in the uncultured activity of robbing them of their possessions after which they revealed one of the alleged armed robbers told the others to kill some of the victims.
“After they rob us, we heard some saying they should kill some of us, the others were refusing that call but before we realized, there were several gunshots then they run back to the nearby bush they appeared from”. They told our reporter.
Anain Kwadwo Prah was shot at his neck which eventually led to his untimely death. The driver of the bus sustained gunshot wounds in his leg and he is currently receiving treatment at Atebubu Hospital.
It will be recalled that, headteacher of the Bantama S.D.A Basic School in the Sene West District of the Bono East was recently killed in a similar way by some alleged armed while he was returning from a workshop on May 7, 2021.
These events have prompted teachers at the Sene West and West Districts in preparing a petition to their Directors of Education, Police Command and the Regional Minister to provide them with security or will leave the district abounding their duties.
The Sene East District Police Command are currently on a manhunt for the assailants.
