Eastern Regional TUC Chairman, Mr. Augustine Michael Owusu at the Workers Day Celebration ” Sustainable Pensions For All; Role Of Social Partners” jabs the government to honour the promises he made during the 2016 electioneering campaign on corruption.
Mr. Augustine Michael Owusu stated that the corruption scandals is tarnishing the image of the Country and it is within the government, Parliament, judiciary, public and civil sectors and almost every sector of the economy. He stressed that the corruption does not augur well for the nation as it scares away prospective investors. In his submission said, the government should be more serious and tackle corruption at all levels. He continued that the government established the Office Of the Special Prosecutor to prosecute corrupt officials but this great Office has become a White Elephant. In Two years, Four Months along the line, no soul has been sent to the law court to be prosecuted.

The electorates are now wiser than before and will vote for a political party that is so committed to corruption and seeks the welfare of it’s citizens. Building great infrastructure does not win Political power else NPP and NDC would have won the 2008 and 2016 general elections respectively.
Mr. Augustine Michael Owusu expressed that no corrupt official, no matter his or her party colours, should not be spared if found guilty.
Michael finally wish gallant workers beautiful outfit the best in the year celebration but they must be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove in the celebration.
