“Shame on you Ghana Education Service” – Dzifa Gomashie fires GES for racism

The Member of Parliament for Ketu South constituency, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has expressed her disappointment and sentiment on her Facebook page today.

“I wish I could call you all names. Names that would make you cringe like I cringed when this was sent to me”, she said.

According to her, Ghana Education Services (GES) has exhibited an acute hatred for Ewes by distributing a book which depicts weird behavior of Ewes.

She made reference to a class 3 text book, “History of Ghana”, published by Badu Nkansah and distributed by GES to public schools.

A page of the book indicates how Ewes relate to other tribes in an unfriendly manner but cherish their own.

“I have an attitude to show love especially to my people.

If you can speak my language and you step on my toe, I am not bothered.

I enjoy music and dancing in my Kente cloth

People say I am inward looking but that is what they think.

I am very good especially to my people”

She believes that Ewes have accommodated this racism attacks for so many long from some people who think they are more “Ghanaians” than others.

“Perhaps you have gone this far because we have tolerated this absolutely foolish, condescending and totally unacceptable behavior from some Ghanaians and now you have the effrontery and audacity published it”, she said.

She demands a withdrawal of such publication from GES curriculum for class 3 students.
