Sawla- Tuna- Kalba District supports Persons living with Disability

Persons Living with Disability in the Sawla Tuna Kalba district yesterday Thursday received items and funding worth thousands of Ghana cedis to help them meet some basic needs to uplift their standard of living in their various communities.

Some of the items included 6 Refrigerators, 18 Wheelchairs, Sewing machines and some money as a start-up capital. Persons who received refrigerators were given Gh500 as a start-up capital, persons who received sewing machines were given Gh250 cedis as start-up capital whiles 26 others were given funds for petty trading ranging between Gh1,200 to 700, but for ten of them who were students also took some amount for fees.

Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi FM, the DCE for Sawla Hon Lawal Tamimu encouraged all the beneficiaries to have confidence for there are more to come, stating that as at 2018 100 thousand Ghana cedis wa disbursed to some batches of persons with Disability.

Mr Boffour Ahmed Haruna the district coordinating Director also entreated the beneficiaries not to sell the items but put them into use.

Amadu Zakiyatu a member of the group and a beneficiary also thanked the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba District Assembly for the good works and asked members to exercise patience since they have been grouped in batches.
