Return To Lecture Halls – Government Appeals To Lecturers

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has been asked by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to return to the lecture halls while the leadership returns to the negotiating table.

The commission stated that its decision was based on the basis that UTAG had to seem to recognize the mediator’s legal authority, the National Labour Commission (NLC), even if it had reservations about it.

In an exclusive interview, GTEC Director-General Professor Mohammed Salifu said, “As intellectuals, we cannot be regarded to be behaving with impunity.”
