Residents of Babaduasu struggle for drinking water

Over five hundred residents (500) of Babaduasu a farming community in the Sekyere South District of Ashanti region have expressed their worries over how the community share water with cows .

In an interview, they said they have sent several petitions to the District Chief Executive and Member of Parliament for assistance but these have proved futile.

” We have about five hundred people living in this community, our major challenge now is source of portable water , we share the water here with animals, we have to wake up at dawn before we can get a cup of water to drink “, they noted.

Moreover, some residents narrated that, toilet facility has also become another headache to them.

“We share the latrine with our wives and little children, it’s very painful, the MP and DCE only come here during election seasons, we are pleading with H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo to come to our aid”, they emphasized.

Mr. Issah a philanthropist in the community bemoaned how the situation of the commuters becomes a problem to him.

“These problems have become a headache to me, I can’t sleep because I have to buy sachet water which cost me huge amount of money daily for them, there is no hospital,no toilet facility, I want to take this opportunity to appeal to other philanthropists and the government to come to our aid “, he stated
