Report illegal migrants by sea ; Marine police to fishermen

The Director of Marine Police, DCOP Mr Iddi Seidu, has urged fishermen in coastal communities, to be vigilant and report strangers who may attempt to enter the country through the various landing beaches, since the country’s borders have been closed.

DCOP Seidu said this when he led teams from his department to sensitise fishermen in communities at the coast on the COVID-19 pandemic and police enforcement.

These meetings discussed restrictions imposed on the public to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease as well as the hygiene protocols to follow for one to stay healthy.

The places visited include Apam, Kormatse, Senya Breku and Gomoah Fetteh.

The Chief Fisherman of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Obrenu Dabum III, thanked the team for the education and appealed to the police administration to increase its presence in all the nine fishing districts in the Central Region.
