A member of the OneGhana Movement has expressed his dissatisfaction with the country’s youth’s lack of possibilities.
The rising rate of nepotism throughout state and security agencies, according to Senyo Hosi, has become an albatross around the citizens’ necks.
“The phrase ‘Protocol’ has now inundated our government sector positions, from ministries to state-owned corporations. To have a good chance, you need to be politically or socially connected,” he said.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) was presenting at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Law School’s 2022 Constitution Day Public Lecture.
The event, which is being held in partnership with One Ghana Movement, is titled “Avoiding the Constitution’s Impending Death.”
Senyo Hosi, speaking at the school’s Kofi Ohene-Konadu Auditorium, expressed concern that if left uncontrolled, even security agencies could be divided into political factions, a scenario that would be detrimental to growth.
“We will have an NDC and NPP silent security faction shortly, if we don’t already have one.” On Friday, January 14, he remarked, “I have seen firsthand the party caucuses in our state-owned firms, regulatory organizations, and educational system.”
To increase equity and accelerate growth, Mr Hosi advocated that meritocracy be prioritized in these sectors.
