Pay Our Outstanding Allowances Now – National Service Personnel’s To Government

National Service personnel’s around the country are pleading with the National Service Scheme’s (NSS) management to pay their two (2) months of unpaid National Service Allowances.

Personnel who started their one-year required National Service on January 15, 2021, and are due to finish on November 30, 2021, are concerned about unpaid allowances, which they describe as terrible and inflicting further harm to them at their various service locations.

The National Service Scheme has failed to pay allowances for the months of September and October 2021, according to the 2020 batch of Trained Teachers deployed from the Forty-six (46) Accredited Public Colleges of Education.

The National Service Scheme is required to pay each National Service Personnel GH¢559.4 every month. Unfortunately, the plan failed to pay Newly Trained Teachers allowances in September and October across the country.

Since then, the Scheme has been silent on the unpaid allowances of National Service Personnel.

Some of the Personnel who spoke with our team expressed their displeasure with the Scheme’s failure to pay their outstanding allowances.

They also chastised the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) for adopting a callous attitude toward the position in which they found themselves.

“It’s sad that NSS has not paid our allowances for the past two months. Allowances for September and October have not been paid. The NSS or NASPA have not issued a single word regarding the delay or underpaid allowances owed to us. We’re in trouble; we don’t have enough money to buy food, and we owe people money for products and food that we haven’t paid for. Our landlords are attempting to collect rent and electricity bills from us. “This is quite humiliating,” some National Service Personnel say.

As a result, the Personnel are requesting that the National Service Scheme (NSS) pay them their outstanding allowances in order to enable them subsist at work.
