OUR YOUTHS ARE INTO ROBBERY, WE NEED PROTECTION ~ CHIEF CRIES OUT.


The Divisional Chief of Wasa Afransie in Wasa Amenfi east who doubles as Nsafuahene of Wasa Amenfi Traditional Area, Nana Amua Gyaafo ll has lamented that they are living in fear following the increasing robbery attacks and petty theft in the area by the youths.

The Chief speaking to Kaakyire Kwasi Afari, he said, his residents lives have been threatened with some of them robbed of their valuables by some youths living in the Afransie community in Wasa Amenfi east municipal of the Western region.

He stated that, it’s always dreadful for residents to walk around and transacts business in the night and even daylight hours in communities like, Wasa Nananko, Wasa Nkonya, Wasa Saa, Abrokyire Krobo, Wasa Japa, Ntwentwena and other nearby communities due to lack of police stations and proper police patrols in the aforementioned communities.

“There is something new on earth which they called armed robbers. The robbery has increased to an extent that my youths who could have been used resourcefully are engaging themselves with AK47 gun’s meant for high security profiles to robe and those who oppose are shots” the chief laments.

Nana Gyaafo ll complained bitterly, how snails pace and how reluctant robbery cases are been handled when reported to Akropong police station for prosecution.

He said, the community are on their own little resources, constructing a police station to curb crimes but currently on halt due to financial constraints thus, appealing for stakeholders and public supports to complete the police station construction.

They are therefore calling on the police to up their game in the uprising insecurity situation to help fish out the armed robbers to ensure peaceful living.
