NDC shortlist Abandoned Health Facilities in Volta Region

Some members of National Democratic Congress [NDC], in the Volta Region have called on government to complete work on the new  health facilities that are said to be District Hospitals started under formal President John Mahama.

Some residents disclosed in an interview that the delay in the completion of the new facilities are putting pressure on the old structures and making access to healthcare  a big challenge.

Assembly Members of some areas also said, the contractors have left the site and locals engaged as casual workers have been sent home.

they said the projects were scheduled and likely to be completed in 2019  but is still at a standstill and people are not willing to access healthcare at the old ones due to inadequate facilities and staff.

The facilities which are said to be 60 per cents complete has male and female wards, Central Supply and Sterilisation Department, laundry, theatre and a mortuary.
