Nana Oteatuoso Warns ECG Over Increase Of Tarrif

The Akwanserehene of Akyem Kwabeng Etwienana Baffour Oteatuoso II, has questioned what he describes as abnormal electricity tariffs which have been reflecting on consumers bills off late even though the government has ordered a reduction.

Nana Oteatuoso who was taking part in a panel discussion on Wontumi TV and Radio said the recent abnormal increase has come at a time the government has announced a relief package for consumers due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.

According to him, the situation has made most consumers unhappy but wondered why the ECG has remained silent on the issue.

“Nana Akufo-Addo announced the relief measure some time in April which should have ended at the end of June but as a caring President, he extended it for a further three months.

Nana Oteatuoso recalled that, at the time the PDS take-over of the ECG occurred, the power supplying company counted on the public support by moving from one radio station to the other only to betray them with unjustifiable tariff increases.

“We saw you hopping from one FM station to the other at the time of the take over but now no calls to your office to address our concerns are picked. This is most unfortunate.” He emphasized

Nana Oteatuoso is hopeful that, very soon the ECH management would be kept busy to explain their clandestine.
