The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has described Mr. John Mahama as a promoter of galamsey in Ghana.
The NPP Chairman popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, classified the 2020 flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as man who is dangerous like “galamsey mixed with coronavirus”.
In the run-up to the 2020 election, Kweku Boahen, a deputy Communication Officer of the NDC was captured on a video echoing the plans of Mr. John Mahama to strengthen the operation of illegals miners by freeing them to destroy the environment and water bodies.
In the video Kwaku Boahen is clearly heard promising galamsayers that they will continue mining when they vote for former President John Mahama, despite the stance by the government of President Akufo-Addo to renew efforts to fight galamsey.
