Mahama donates PPE to Trafalgar Hospital in Ho

Flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has donated Protective Personal Equipment (PPE) for frontline healthworkers fighing COVID-19 at the Ho Teaching Hospital, Trafalgar in the Volta Region.

Ghana has so far recorded  287 cases of COVID-19 with five deaths.

The Government has as a result restricted movement in certain parts of the country including Kasoa, Tema, Accra and Ashanti Regions.

The donation was made on behalf of Mr Mahama by some members of the NDC including Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho West, Kwesi Bedzrah, MP for Adaklu, Kwame Agbodza, NDC Volta Chairman, Henry Ametefe and party Secretary James Gunu on Monday, 6 April 2020.

Speaking at a short ceremony to present the items, member of the Volta Regional chapter of the NDC COVID-19 Technical Team, Epidemiologist and Public Health specialist, Prof Margaret  Kweku said the items are part of a total number of 650 PPE and 650 gumboots procured by the Former President for distribution to frontline health workers engaged in the fight against the deadly virus across the country.
