KMA Slaps Kumasi Lotto Operators With GHs 60 Permit Renewal Fee

Members of the Authority Committee of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) have recommended an imposition GH 60.00 fee on all Lotto writers within the Metropolis.

Lotto writers occupying the various kiosks/containers per the new submission should levied the above quantum yearly as permit renewal fee as part of measures aimed at improving the revenue mobilization drive of the Assembly.

Such fund should be collected by the sub-metros”- members of the committee have recommended.

Other recommendations are that;

A. On the revenue (advert) issues pertaining to KMA and the Military Security Zone, members recommended that the Assembly should collect the revenue and deposit in an escrow account for sharing or the assembly would collect its part of the amount as stipulated in the fee-fixing for the Military to also collect their part from the advertising companies.

B. The commercial license and Business Operating Permit (BOP) which was previously collected by My Company 365 should be reserved back to the Assembly i.e. Urban Transport Unit

C. A permanent manager should be assigned to manage the Race Course Market. The manager’s duties would be overseen by the Bantama Sub-metro Administrator. Further, unresolved issues such as sanitation, electricity among others should be addressed to maximize revenue at the market, etc.

These were disclosed by the City Mayor Hon Osei Assibey during the 1st Ordinary Meeting of The 2nd Session of the 8th Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly held on Monday 31st May, 2021.
