Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang Can’t Be Quiet While Hawa Koomson Is Being Castigated- Akyem Royal

The Akwanserehene of Akyem Kwabeng, Etwienana Baffour Oteatuoso Kokoben II, has asked the running mate of the NDC, Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang to wade into the controversy that the firing of a gunshot by an NPP female member of government has generated.

“Your fellow woman, Hawa Koomson who is MP for Awutu Senya East is in trouble. What are you doing about it?” This could be the right time to shed her own thoughts on how attempts are being made to scandalize a defensive act by a woman who deserves to be protected by women rights advocates

Nana Oteatuoso who was speaking exclusively on the Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio and TV said that, the action by Hawa Koomson was purposely to defend herself besides, the bullet caused no damage, not even to a bird.

The popular Chief said that majority of Ghanaians have rubbished calls from a section of NDC activists that Hawa Koomson should be arrested or she resigns from her position as ‘Minister of State’

“The NDC has a warped mind. They are saying they will prosecute Hawa Koomson if they come to power while the election has not even been held.” Furious Nana Oteatuoso noted

Background

Hon. Hawa Koomson on Monday was seen firing gunshots at a registration center at Kasoa.

According to the Special Development Initiative Minister, she fired the gun to protect herself at the Center.

Hawa Koomson stated that, non of her men who accompanied her had guns on them upon visiting the registration center when it was reported that the Electoral Commission had closed down the Step to Christ registration center in the Awutu Senya East constituency after gun-wielding men stormed the premises.
