Singer Andrews Commey Otoo, known professionally as Mr. Drew has sarcastically disclosed that he’s aiming at some awards at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) with his stolen songs.
The smooth-singer has often been accused by Ghanaians of sampling songs from other artists without their permission. His ‘Eat’ song ft Stonebwoy is sample music from Nigerian American singer, Olurotimi Akinosho, known professionally as Rotimi from his song Love Riddim.
His new song, ‘Year’ has been claimed to be a rip-off of Keche’s ‘No Dulling’ song. It’s against this background that he said on Kastle FM that he’ll grab some awards at the VGMAs with the same songs people labeled as ‘stolen’songs.
Beyond his sarcasm, the clean-shaven artiste said he really worked hard under the year in review hence deserves some recognition. Mr. Drew further added that his numerous hit songs make him a competitor for the New Artiste of the Year category and also was in the headlines due to his song theft allegations.
