I Only Remember Mahama As A “Dead Goat” President – Methodist Bishop Fires Back

Former Methodist Bishop, Bishop Stephen Richard Bosomtwe Ayensu says former President John Dramani Mahama who is seeking another term in office has nothing to offer Ghanaians again.

He advised that the former NDC flagbearer should stay away from politics after losing the 2020 General elections.

According to him, Mr Mahama has been blessed with all political positions and that his retirement from politics will earn him a stateman’s position which “he is from now”.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show, ‘Ghana Montie’, the outspoken Bishop said Mr Mahama’s tenure in office as President was terrible.

Bishop Bosomtwe Ayensu claims he cannot reminisce any good policy from the Mahama-led government then.

“I only remember him [John Mahama] as a dead goat,” He told host Akwasi Aboagye.

Adding that, “This is someone who wants to be President again so he can review the Free SHS policy. Are we serious as a nation.?”

Background of Mahama’s goat syndrome comment

President John Mahama had warned that he will not be shaken by the threat of strikes from labour unions as the country approached the 2016 Election.

“I have seen more demonstrations and strikes in my first two years. I don’t think it can get worse. It is said that when you kill a goat and you frighten it with a knife, it doesn’t fear the knife because it is dead already.

“I have a dead goat syndrome,” he said on March 11, 2015, when speaking to members of the Ghanaian community in Botswana.
