Gunshot Wound Exposes Runaway Armed Robber In Hospital, Rearrested

A 27-year-old armed robbery suspect was caught in the Effiduase District of the Ashanti Region after fleeing after being shot during an operation.

Darlington Worchie had a gunshot wound on his right shoulder and a similar wound on his back, which he had sustained when robbing some local residents.

During his initial interrogation, he claimed that he had a misunderstanding with someone at a smoking base in Appiadu on Ayeduase Road in Kumasi, and that the person stabbed him with an unknown tool at the specified portions.

He was taken to St. Joseph Hospital for an examination, where the Medical Officer determined that the wound was a gunshot wound with penetration.

When asked where the wound was dressed, the suspect stated that he was taken to the Kwame Nkrumah University (KNUST) Hospital in Kumasi.

After extensive questioning, the suspect ultimately revealed that he and two unknown accomplices attempted to rob someone in Appiadu, but he was shot by the individual.

That same night, he went to Appiadu Police Station and reported that he was attacked by armed individuals who attempted to rob him, but he fought back and was shot, after which he was given a Police medical form allowing him to attend the mentioned Hospital.

Later, the suspect led police to the site where he was apprehended, and a small polythene bag containing a black T-shirt that he wore on the day of the event with the alleged gunshot penetration, as well as a singlet and boxer shorts that were soaked in blood, was discovered.
