Government Contacts Kwesi Nyantakyi On How To Move Ghana vs Nigeria Game To Kumasi

According to Kessben Sports, the Ghanaian government has contacted Kwesi Nyantakyi, the former president of the Ghana Football Association, to discuss moving the important first leg playoff game against Nigeria to the Baba Yara sports stadium.

Concerns have been raised about changing the match venue following Nigeria’s objection against the field at the Cape Coast Stadium, which will host the critical encounter.

On Sunday, a team of CAF inspectors arrived in Kumasi to assess the Baba Yara sports stadium in anticipation of a probable change of match venue.

The Ghanaian government wants to shift the game from Cape Coast to Kumasi, therefore the Baba Yara Stadium contacted a former member of the CAF executive committee regarding the procedure of altering the match venue just 10 days before the game.

According to other sources, if the Cape Coast stadium fails to meet CAF’s requirements, the game will most likely be relocated to either Benin or Morocco.
