Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has disclosed that galamsey business in Ghana is highly run by politicians in the country.
Speaking in an interview on an Accra-based radio station, the social commentator, Mr Allotey Jacobs made known that the very people to help kick out galamsey from the system are the same people tied up in it therefore there is no completion to galamsey battle.
“Politicians in this country are completely engaged in galamsey business. I know for sure. I know where they do galamsey in Ashanti, Western and Central Region(s) just that I don’t know much about Eastern Region,” he stressed.
He added that he will end illegal mining thus politicians should quit or rather get proper authorization to engage in small-scale mining.
