Fuel Tanker Catches Fire on Accra-Kumasi Highway

Fuel tanker vehicle caught fire after it was involved in an accident.

The tanker with registration number GR7992-E was burnt by the fire on Anyinam to Engyresi stretch of the Accra to Kumasi Highway.

According to witnesses, the Tanker vehicle loaded with fuel veered off its lane and crashed in an attempt to avoid a head-on collision with a Sprinter Bus onboard with passengers who had wrongfully overtaken a fleet of vehicles ahead of it.

The tanker burst into flame shortly after crashing.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service responded to douse the fire preventing it from exploding.
