Fuel Shortage Hits Ghana As GOIL, Other Fuel Stations Run Out

Several customers in various parts of the country have complained about not being able to get gas on social media.

Patrons assert Since gasoline was unavailable at GOIL outlets, the company has been the worst offender.

A Facebook user named Vericaps Gadri complained that more than ten GOIL stores were out of Super (petrol).

“For tomorrow and the record, roughly ten GOIL outlets in Accra that I visited today had no Super to sell, even at their high selling price.” Should this make us wary (sic) and may there be any shortages in the near future? “What will happen to us?” He made the announcement on his Facebook page.

Other parts of the country are said to be short on gasoline and fuel, requiring customers to go from station to station.

The Institute of Energy Security (IES) anticipated a gasoline shortage two months ago, and it appears to be true now.

In March 2022, Nana Amoasi VII, Executive Director of IES, forecasted that the cedi’s depreciation and rising oil costs would produce scarcity.
