‘Do We Establish Opposition NADMO In Times Of Floods?” – Awuku Chides NDC

The National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Samuel Awuku, has questioned the motive behind setting up of a parallel response team by the flag bearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama.

In a panel discussion on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show, the dynamic organizer of the ruling party could not bring himself to grasp the thinking behind such a move by the NDC and their flagbearer.

”I am struggling to understand former President Mahama and the NDC. Do we establish opposition NADMO in times of floods?”he questioned.

Awuku observed that this phenomenon is strange in the country since no opposition party in our political history has arrogated such powers to itself to set up parallel structures to counter that of the state.

Describing the move as reckless and an act of lawlessness, Sammi Awuku described the opposition party as insensitive to the plight of the citizenry. He wondered why anybody would seek to gain political advantage in times of crisis.

COVID-19 has been having a toll on the world not excluding Ghana. The Government of Ghana, as a result, has instituted pragmatic measures to help fight the virus.

The flabearer of the opposition NDC, John Mahama, a week ago, set up and inaugurated a nine-member team he described as NDC’s Response Team for COVID-19. The list included people like Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh and Ato Forson.

Meanwhile, on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen afternoon show hosted by Philip Osei Bonsu, a member of the NDC’s response team, Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh, justified his inclusion in the team saying he was a science student at the university, therefore, his inclusion should not be seen as anything strange.

Ghana has since recorded 52 infested cases of coronavirus with two deaths.
