Dangerous Bridge Cuts Truba From Kumasi

The weak-looking bridge at Truba

A BRIDGE linking Buokrom Quarry to Truba in Kumasi is in a deplorable state.

Some parts of the weak-looking bridge was washed away by water almost one-year ago and since then there has been no effort to fix it, making commuting on the bridge dangerous.

Vehicles can no longer pass on the bridge and it is causing fear and panic among the residents.

For almost one-year now, residents of Truba have virtually been cut away from Kumasi.

The people usually alight from cars and walk on the dangerous bridge to their homes.

“The bridge is hanging so we have to alight from cars and walk long distances home. It submerges anytime there are rains.”

Kofi Adjei, a resident of Truba, appealed to authorities concerned to come to their aid saying “We have been cut away from Kumasi and so government should assist us.”

Another resident, Nana Akua, urged city authorities to help prevent disaster from happening in the area.
