COVID-19: Hand Sanitizers Reduce Below Market Price In Ethiopia To Curb Disease

According to some reports gathered from some Ethiopian media and Magazines has it that, Authorities in Ethiopia have made available hand sanitizers and soap to be sold below market prices as part of efforts to control the spread of Corona Virus in the African country.

Unlike the situation in Ghana where the price of the product suddenly shot up over 100% following high demands, the situation in Ethiopia is the opposite, reports say.

Hand sanitizers are in high demand due to the outbreak of COVID-19, compelling pharmaceutical companies and distilleries to shift their production drive to the production of hand sanitizers in order to meet the pressing need for the product.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali announced in a tweet “Well done to AA city administration for availing hand sanitizers & soap below the market price throughout Kenema pharmacies. Grateful to the city youth for their voluntary. Our collective efforts and collaboration are key in #Covid-19 prevention and containment.”
