Dr. Samson Anoma, the head of the Accounting Department at Kumasi Technical University, has made a strong case for Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, urging the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to keep him as the Ashanti regional chairman.
Dr. Samson Anoma publicly declared that it will take the leadership of Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, to ensure Dr. Bawumia takes over from President Akufo-Addo in the NPP’s effort to maintain political power and break the 8-year political cycle.
“We don’t just want someone to come in and utilize the party for a trial; we need someone who has already gained us power.” He (Chairman Wontumi) has the power to ensure Bawumia is elected President,” Dr. Anoma said.
In an interview with Wontumi TV, the university lecturer noted that Chairman Wontumi has proved over the years that he has the intellect to help the NPP win political power, and that it would be wrong to replace him with someone else.
Replacing Chairman Wontumi with another candidate, according to Dr. Samson Anoma, will have a negative impact on the NPP’s election fortunes in 2024, stating that “if the NPP rejects him and brings another person, they would not gain power in 2024.”
