Chairman Wontumi alleged awarded $45 million contract for Non-existing Cocoa Road

Classified documents reveals that the Ghana Cocoa Board has awarded a road contract in excess of Forty Five Million Dollars ($45 million) a company identified as Hallmark Civil Engineering.

In a notice of award written to the company by the Ghana Cocoa Board, it states that the contract was for the rehabilitation, upgrading and reconstruction of the Dadieso – Akontombra Road and the Awaso – Asawinso (Bibiani Junction).

The contact sum, $45,199,526.96 million (Over 26 Trillion old cedis) was supposedly for the construction of the 26.3KM road above.

Credible documents from the Registrar General’s department, reveals that the company awarded this contract is owned by the outspoken NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako otherwise known as Chairman Wontumi.

The company with company registration number CSO40052018 was incorporated on February 19, 2018 after the Akufo Addo government came into office.

The Directors of the company per our records, are Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) and one Doris Quainoo.
The registered secretary of the company, is also identified as Constance Wiafe.

It is however worrying to note, that the said work expected to be done on the Dadieso – Akontombra Road and the Awaso – Asawinso (Bibiani Junction) has not been done.
The road has neither been rehabilitated, upgraded or reconstructed since the award of the contract.
