Bolga-Bawku Road To Be Ready On Time – Contractors Assure Minister

The Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayage has disclosed that consultants for the Bolgatanaga-Bawku road have given her a concrete timeline to complete the road.

According to her, the promise of the consultant and contractors is to complete work on the entire 109km stretch in 30 months. Hon Tangoba Abayage made the revelation after she went on a tour of the project to ascertain things for herself on the extent of work.

The Regional Minister who was impressed with the work so far was grateful that finally, there was hope for the road which has been left in a deplorable for several years with promises of fixing it.

In a post announcing the timelines given by the contractors and consultants, she said “In September last year the contractors working on the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Pulmankom road moved back to site. Since then they’ve been working very hard around the clock to meet deadlines.
Today I took a tour of the project site to inspect ongoing works and must report that work is progressing steadily and speedily.
The promise of the consultant and contractors is to complete work on the entire 109km stretch in 30 months. Kudos Querios Galvao MI”.

“We have put the Bolga-Bawku road on the Enhanced Fund and so there are funds to pay the contractors and so when it starts, it will continue without stopping. I want to have a first class road from Bolga to Bawku through to Pulmakum.”

However, after his tenure, work on the road was suspended because there were no funds and some auditing needed to take place.
