Ashanti Region Won’t Support NPP Fully If Bawumia Is Elected As NPP Flagbearer – Amakye Boateng

Dr. Kwasi Amakye Boateng, a prominent political science lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), believes the NPP will lose the election in 2024 if any candidate other than Trade Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng runs.

Many people across the country, including in the Ashanti region, dismiss the impact of Vice President Dr. Mahammadu Bawumia in the management of the country, particularly the economy, according to a former KNUST head of Political Science and History Department who supervised a research sponsored by a group in the NPP.

According to him, the ruling party’s core does not believe the vice president is politically mature enough to lead the New Patriotic Party into the 2024 elections, which the party hopes would “end the 8-year cycle of dominance by the two major political parties.”

On Pure FM’s morning drive, Dr. Amakye Boateng revealed that the region is rooting for Alan Kyeremanteng rather than the Vice President.

“The NPP has no choice than to elect Alan Kwadow Kyeremanteng as their presidential candidate in 2024.” President Nana Akufo Addo is a result of the party’s history of electing its flagbearers. He stated, “The NPP has no problem because they already have Alan Kyeremanteng.”

“2024, according to our research, if NPP does not bring Alan Kyeremanteng as their flagbearer, Ashanti region will not support NPP to win power,” he said. It’s all about race. It’s all about who can lead the party to power in 2024. In fact, they should take this seriously,” he said.
