Members of the Concerned Farmers Association of Agogo,in the Asante Akyem North District of  the Ashanti  Region  have called for more support  for the incumbent Member of Parliament Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi who doubles as Deputy Minister of Railways Development in driving more development to constituency.

According  to the farmers the MP has effectively discharged his duties since he was elected to represent the people of Asante Akyem North and it is important that the whole community supports him as he seeks to be re-elected in the  December polls.

Speaking to Wontumi TV/Radio  at a press conference at Agogo, Russia Park, the leader of the Association Mr Kwabena Nimo, said prior to the 2016 election, “reports of Fulani herdsmen were destroying their farms and raping their women were very rampant but the MP kept his words that he would  end the phenomenon.”

“This shows clearly  that he is a good leader.” He said

The farmers representative  also questioned persons the peddling falsehood against  the MP by some discontented residents in the area and called on them to  desist from the negative practice  and support him because  “he has good plans for the people.”

Mr. Nimo  stated that the reason most people are slandering the MP all is because he  is not an indigene  but according to him since Lawyer Appiah Kubi  is a Ghanaian and had discharged his duties diligently he must be supported.

Before the press conference it was reported that the Regional Police Commander had started  investigation into the recent acts of  violence in the Agogo township  particularly, the recent shooting incident  in the town.
