Afia Schwarzenegger blasts Nana Addo for allowing a local ceremony to remember the death of George Floyd

The government of Ghana has put together a commemorative ceremony for George Floyd who was murdered coldly by a police officer on the streets of Minneapolis in the United States.

Although some people are saying the ceremony will paint a good picture of Ghana, Afia Schwarzenegger is of the view that the ceremony is needless.

Speaking in a Youtube Vlog, the media personality said it’s very sad for President Nana Addo to allow such a thing to be organized by the Ministry of Tourism.

Elaborating her opinion, Afia explained people have died in this country under gruesome circumstances but the Government has not in any way done anything to appease their souls or honor them.

She also mentioned the case of the three Takoradi girls that got missing, till now, they’ve not been found. Yet, no vigil or whatsoever has been done in their memory.

Afia said that for these reasons, it seems as if George Floyd is more important than our own home people. So the Government should get their priorities right.

The mother of three however clarified that she’s in no way saying George’s death wasn’t unfair and thus doesn’t deserve all the honor they’re giving him. But the fact still remains that priority must be given to the most pressing needs.
