On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Hellen Adjoa Ntonso, Member of Parliament for Krachi West, complimented all female Members of Parliament for their efforts. Women have been shown to be better managers than men, she claims.
On the floor of Parliament on Tuesday, March 8, she stated that if the Finance Minister had been a woman, the country would not be in the current economic mess.
“Mr. Speaker, I venture to assert that when women hold positions of power, they do better than men. I also dare to argue that if the Finance Minister were a woman, we would not be in this scenario.
“In short, what I’m saying is that when women are put in specific roles, we can perform and do better at all times.” So, in the next NDC government, I propose that the Defense Minister, the Minister of the Interior, and the Finance Minister all be women, so that Ghana can progress in the correct path.
“As we commemorate International Women’s Day, I’d like to use this occasion to pay tribute to the forty women in Parliament who, despite all odds, have worked tirelessly to serve as the people’s representatives,” she added.
