12 Ashaiman prisoners break jail on Easter Day using hot porridge

12 prisoners have launched a ‘prison break’ agenda at the Zenu-Atadeka prison in the Ashaiman Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

According to report, the incident took place yesterday on Easter day — 4th April 2021.

According to the police, an arrest was made yesterday which require the suspect to be locked up in the police cell.

So just when the sergeant went to lock up the suspect around 6:40am, one of the inmates poured a hot porridge which was served as breakfast on his face.

This situation obviously made the police officer to lose balance, thus, giving the other inmates the opportunity to push the iron gate open after which they escaped.

All 12 remand prisoners have been identified as  Basit Sulemana,  Richard Remeo,  Ibrahim Adams,  Sumaila Karim,  Musah Ali,  Musah Ibrahim,  Sulemana Ibrahim,  Abu Sadique, Mubarak Seiti, Ibrahim Fuseini,  Aziz Fuseini and  Amish Akorli.

Meanwhile, escapee suspect Ibrahim Adams has been re-arrested at Kubekro Number 2 in an uncompleted building.

Police who confirmed the jailbreak to MyNewsGh, said efforts are underway to recapture the remaining.
