Weeding Punishment For Stealing A Jackpot Machine Loaded With Money.
A 24 year-old Yaw Okyere has been busted by the people of Bibiani old town in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality for stealing a jackpot machine loaded with GHc200 coins.
He wasn’t handed to the police but rather given a stiffer punishment to weed the community with the supervision of the assembly member and some unit committee members.
Speaking to the assembly member of the area, Hon Zakaria Mubarik, he explained that, he went to the rescue of the suspect when the mob wanted to beat him at the time he was caught in the act and with his intervention they all agreed to punish him by weeding.
The suspect was then given a weedy portion in the community under the supervision of the town authorities as a “name and shame” punishment to serve as deterrent to others.
