I had to deny my identity as an Ewe to save my life – Caleb Kudah says after his arrest (video)

Ghanaian journalist Caleb Kudah tells Bernard Avle about how he felt in his arrest by the National Security.

Caleb was arrested alongside his Colleague Zoe by the national security operatives on the 11th of May 2021 for taking a video of security personnel at the independent square.

In the video, Caleb was criticising the national security for preventing the fix the nation protest.

During Caleb’s narration about how he was treated by the national security whilst he was in their custody,  he said he was slapped and kicked.

“I was handcuffed, slapped and kicked by National Security operative”

He also added that, if he had caused one of those serious judgement debts in the country Ghana before he was treated bad by the national security, he would have understood

“If had caused one of those serious judgement debts in this country and they beat me that way and I felt that handcuff, I would have understood”

 

Zoe also narrated what happened to her at the national security.
