Alban Bagbin Was Not Elected As Speaker-Osei Kyei Mensa

The former majority leader of the 7th Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensa Bonsu has disclosed that hon. Alban Bagbin who is now the Speaker of Parliament wasn’t elected.

He says Alban was made the Speaker of Parliament based on consensus because Parliament was delaying the inauguration of the President.

Speaking on GHoneTV he revealed that Alban Bagbin never garnered 138 votes like Ghanaians have been made to believe because the votes were not counted.

He stated that although members of Parliament were able to retrieve all ballot papers snatched by Carlos Ahenkorah the ballots were not countered. He narrated how he and Haruna Idrisu were about to arrive at a conclusion that Alban should be made the speaker and later hold a real election only for Okudzeto Ablakwa to badge in saying that Alban has garnered 138 votes and so he is the winner
