I didn’t take money to compose NPP song- Lucky Mensah

Ghanaian Highlife musician, Lucky Mensah has said that he was not contracted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to compose a remix of his ‘Nana Y3ny3 wo D3n Ni’ song (campaign song).

Commending Nana Akuffo Addo for his sterling governance style so far, his endorsement (the song), he said, was an improvement on an earlier version he made about three years ago.

“I have not taken any money to compose the song,” he said.

The ‘Come Back’ hitmaker noted that his decision to remake the song was driven by great polices initiated by the NPP such as the Free SHS programme and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) among others.

“Aside being a musician, I am a Ghanaian and I have the right to association just as everyone. Besides I am happy with the policies so I decided to do the remix,” he said on Zylofon FM’s Showbiz Agenda with Sammy Flex on October 24.

In his estimation, NPP under the Nana Addo-led administration has performed better than the erstwhile Mahama-led government.

In 2016, Lucky Mensah crossed carpet from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to join the New Patriotic Party (NPP) where he composed a song ‘Ye Sesa Mu’ for the former as well.
