Lawson Adams, 33, is being held by Kasoa police for defrauding over ten persons in Kasoa and its surrounds by exploiting the late wife of Kasoa Ofaakor District Police Commander’s funeral poster.
DSP Samuel Nana Amfoh apparently lost his wife (Mrs Justina Naa Adaku Amfo) a few weeks ago, and her last funeral rites slated for February 26th, 2023.
The suspect, Lawson Adams, who lives in Brigade in the Ga South Municipality, took advantage of the information on the invites that were disseminated and has been calling on people for funds.
He had since approached Pastors and individuals in Kasoa, seeking money as a donation to funeral preparations.
As the old adage goes, you can’t always fool people all the time, as he was eventually discovered of the scam.
