Sacked Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Public Procurement Authority have said what motivated him for the position was the President’s pledge to protect the public purse from people stealing from it.
However, when the President was sworn into office he made a great promise to protect the public purse. I joined to help protect the public purse as a call made by the President that he will protect the purse.
Mr. A.B Adjei who spoke on Net 2 TV in an interview said that my call by the President was for me to continue the good work I did during the Ex President John Agyekum Kufour’s era.
Soon as I took office a committee of due diligence was formed to make things better than that of the previous Administration which were using the Public Procurement Authority for sole sourcing.
A.B Adjei said when the due diligence committee was introduced it brought a lot of changes to the Procurement Authority and also instilled discipline.
However, he said the reform which took place did not go down well with some people so they tried to pull it down. He said.
