A family of four (4) has been involved in a near-fatal accident at Amanase a community near Suhum on Accra to Kumasi highway in the Eastern Region.
The couple and their two children on board a Toyota Highlander with registration number
AS 8242-20 were in critical condition and have been rushed to Suhum government hospital.
According to an eyewitness, Kwadwo Minta, the Toyota Highlander was speeding from Accra towards Kumasi direction but on reaching Amanase, a Long Trailer truck vehicle suddenly engaged in wrong overtaking of fleets of vehicles ahead of it.
To avoid a head-on collision, the driver of the Toyota Highlander veered off the road and crashed into a signpost leading to severe injuries of the occupants onboard the vehicle.
The trailer driver who caused the accident however failed to stop.
