The President of the Republic, H.E. Akufo-Addo, comes under fire from social media critic and blogger Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas, who claims the President is reportedly practicing bigotry and has surrounded himself with only Asante and Akyem residents.
Albert Hyde claims that the President has ignored all other tribes in the party, such as the Ewes, Gas, and Fantes, by solely appointing Akyems and Asantes to all significant positions of authority, particularly the ministries and agencies in his government.
He added that the President’s choice of these individuals for these positions was completely based on tribe rather than ability.
“Since Nana Addo gained office, practically all ministries, agencies, etc. are led by Ashantis and Akyems,” Bongo Ideas claimed in his statement. The Akotos, Boadus, and Oseis have seized power on the basis of tribe rather than ability.
As usual, social media users responded to this Bongo Ideas remark. While some seem to agree with him, others criticize him for his unfavorable remarks.
