A popular New Patriotic Party(NPP) footsoldier in the Eastern Region, wants his party to consider and welcome into the fold, thieves, prostitutes, and other criminals who will do the job of ballot box snatching in elections.
In a vigorous campaign for some two aspirants at the ongoing NPP regional elections in the Eastern Regional capital, Koforidua, Aboagye, the foot soldier maintained the delegates were not prepared to compromise on a unifier, which is the hallmark of the two candidates he was campaigning for.
“We want leaders who will unite the party. Our party should embrace all without discrimination. Thieves, prostitutes, and the rest whose job it is to go and steal ballot boxes for us should be welcome into our party; their membership should be entrenched. If you are a leader and you look down on these ones, you’re looking down on yourself” Aboagye said.
The incumbent chairman Kingston Okomeng Kissi pulled out from the race to rather contest a national position in the party.
Kwadwo Agyemang Boateng, immediate past New Juaben North Constituency Chairman of the NPP is rather contesting the incumbent Regional Secretary Jeffrey Konadu for the Regional Chairmanship position.
